I am still making my way through the Histories of Middle-earth and owe this blog several updates. But I wanted to make a small update today. One of my favorite websites the One Ring.net (see link on the right hand side of this blog) occasionally holds an amateur symposium. Folks from around the globe who love Tolkien offer many thoughtful and provocative essays on all things Middle-earth.
Out of the ramblings of this blog I decided to submit an essay. The thoughts originated from Tolkien's story of Húrin that I blogged about here and here. It's a deeply personal piece of work that may not necessarily fit the scholarly tone of the symposium. But the good folks at tORN posted my essay today and it can be accessed here. I try not to focus this blog on myself as much as use this blog to focus my thoughts on Tolkien's works; but I felt this an appropriate exception.
